Cam’s insight on the last few months:

“It is fair to say that the year 2020 will be reflected upon for many years to come. Over the last three months we have all experienced an array of emotions, ranging from fear to finally the acceptance of the COIVID-19 pandemic.

We have watched thriving million-dollar companies struggle with the decline of incoming business and leave them with limited to no work for their workforce to complete, leading to unemployment rates at a devastating low and an overwhelmed sense of uncertainty.

As I write this, we are taking our first small steps towards restarting our economy. Like so many others, I was filled with despair when the thought of a shut-down was raised. With everything settling down however, I decided to view this has an opportunity to spend this time in investing into my new business.

It was a time to reflect on my business strategy and analyse what and how I was doing things, and how I could make further improvements. It also gave me the chance to connect and engage with customers to learn more about what they required from a dry cleaning service.

I believe that this pandemic will have more lessons to teach us, if we are willing to listen, learn and implement them. Unfortunately for the time being the dry cleaning industry, like so many others, will not fully recover until we all resume our work and social lives.

I feel for those that have or will lose their jobs and businesses as a result of COVID-19, however I have hope that the future will bring new and innovative change and our economy will flourish once more.”
